• Question: How do you contact someone if something went wrong?

      Hi,
      If something goes wrong during the flight then they would contact the ground using the radio communications. An assessment of the problem would be made and a decision would be taken on what to do.
      In an extreme case they could abandon the ISS and return to Earth. Of course, if you were half way to Mars that would not be possible. The astronauts would have to fix the problem. They would have done a lot of training for ‘failure’ scenarios.
