• Question: When you are on the ISS do you get regular supplies delivered eg food or do you have to take everything with you. ?

      Hi Sarah,

      as astronauts travel by Soyuz at this time to go to the ISS, storage room is limited. Not to say they don’t pack up the Soyuz completely to make best use of the available space!

      But in general supplies eg food is brought by different cargo flights, and we now have more companies who are doing this like SpaceX.

      Hello Sarah,

      Automatic unmanned resupply cargo ship are regularly sent to the ISS with food, water, oxygen, tools, spare parts and propellant. But oxygen and water are partially recycled on board from human waste.
