Astronauts have to pass many tests before they become astronauts in order to test that they are “fit to fly”. These include vast and intense psycholo9gical tests to ensure they have the right “head” to be an astronaut. That includes traits like keeping calm under pressure, no history of mental illnesses etc. So all that can be done in trying to find the best candidates is done, to try to find people that will least likely “go crazy” amongst many other health aspects!
